This role involves taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests. Servers must be attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet guests warmly and seat them in a timely manner.
Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen/bar.
Ensure all orders are served promptly and in accordance with restaurant standards.
Provide menu recommendations and answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Anticipate guests' needs and offer additional items such as drinks, appetizers, or desserts.
Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally, escalating to the manager when necessary.
Food and Beverage Delivery:
Serve food and beverages according to the restaurant’s standards of quality and presentation.
Ensure guests receive their correct orders and check back with them during meals to ensure satisfaction.
Maintain knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and daily specials to provide accurate information to guests.
Ensure timely clearance of dishes and glasses from tables during and after meals.
Teamwork and Communication:
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other servers to ensure efficient service.
Communicate guest needs or special requests to the kitchen and other team members.
Support the cleaning and maintenance of dining areas, ensuring tables are cleared and set for new guests.
Cash Handling:
Present guests with checks, process payments, and provide change or receipts.
Handle cash, credit card transactions, and tips according to the restaurant’s policies.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring that all food handling and serving procedures are compliant with regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, restocking supplies when necessary.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in food safety or bartending is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in a server role or customer service position preferred.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
Knowledge of food and beverage offerings and ability to explain them clearly.
Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism.
