कामको विवरण

Qualifications

1.      Female, age 32 or older

2.      Speaks, reads, and writes English

3.      Experience working with teen girls and young women required

4.      Experience as a live-in child supervisor preferred

5.      +2 Required, Bachelors or Masters (education, counselling, or related field) preferred

6.      Kind, firm, loves girls, feminist, with a passion for social justice work

7.      Mature, stable, and able to deal with many personalities

8.      May be suitable for women who do not plan to have children, or who have already raised their children. We don’t have the opportunity for your child to live with us.

9.      Willing to work some public holidays as operate 365 days per year. You will rotate holiday work with other staff.

10.  Career assessment and counselling certificate is desirable, but not required.

Salary and Benefits

1.      Monthly salary 25-35K NPR based on experience + Dashain bonus.

2.      Annual review and raises each Nepali fiscal year depending on budget.

3.      Provident Fund after one year

4.      Residential job includes housing and food

5.      6 month trial period contract. Long term contract after successful trial period.

6.      Regular work week is 6 days, plus 1 day off.

7.      Vacation 16 days yearly. Sick leave as needed, depending on the case.

8.      Job related training courses and certifications.

Responsibilities

  1. Build relationships and community

  2. Spend time regularly checking on and talking to middle and older girls, grade 7 - Bachelors.

  3. Do weekly check-in circles, hang-outs, and activities to be devised.

  4. Engage their creativity and build trust.

  5. Listen to their concerns.

  6. Help them develop mature and loving relationship skills and a strong sense of responsibility.

  7. Give them equal treatment and equal time

  8. Encourage their care for their younger sisters and the strong sense of family and shared

    time, ensuring that the two houses remain one cohesive family.

  9. Be present at mealtimes.

  10. Get to know each of them deeply!

  11. Be affectionate! Hug them a lot! Love them!

Enforces House rules.

  1. Reinforce being on time for family dinners.

  2. Monitor wake-up and bedtimes for your house

  3. Make sure your house is home on time.

  4. Regulate TV watching time on house PC’s.

  5. Counsel them to be responsible and careful and follow house rules with as they become

    interested in boys.

  6. Discipline the girls as needed, but never physically and never in a way that undermines their

    sense of security in being part of the family or their feeling of being loved.

  7. Collaborates with staff on childcare.

  8. Work closely with Manager, Childcare Supervisor and staff and develop mutually supportive

    working relationships.

  9. Collaborate with staff to make a good environment for the kids.

  10. Rotate holiday support with staff.

  11. Define a schedule with staff to cover mealtimes, tutoring, and other care.

  12. Be a backup for childcare of younger children. You will also have backup coverage.

  13. You may sometimes take children to the hospital or doctor.

  14. Makes monthly reports to In-Country Director on school attendance, academic progress

    including exam results throughout the school year, and the behavior and wellbeing of the

    girls under your care.

Supervises Education

  1. Make sure all college and Bachelor’s girls are attending school

  2. Maintain weekly contact with all colleges (11-12) and universities to ensure proper

    attendance.

  3. Keeps records of grades for all girls and tracks progress. Identifies drop offs in marks and

    collaborates with Manager and Childcare Supervisor on need for increased focus or tuition.

  4. Conduct regular conferences with House Manager and Childcare Supervisor for K-10students and 11-12 teachers to review our children’s progress (twice annually and more if

    needed.)

  5. Monitors College and Bachelor’s exam results throughout the years and tracks completion.

  6. Ensures +2 and Bachelor’s girls have proper materials at exam time.

  7. Helps tutor middle and older girls.

  8. Speak English with the girls and encourage English reading.

  9. Help the girls develop their unique skills and talents.

  10. Counsel older girls as they think about their +2 and Bachelor’s choices and their future

    careers. Help them prepare CVs, build job skills, and find jobs.

  11. Learn about Nepali educational system and help assess what colleges and universities might

    provide the best opportunities for our children.

  12. Build relationships with schools and business that my help our children get jobs in future.

  13. Helps House Manager run our Community Outreach Program.

  14. Tracks obligations for school fees for community outreach.

  15. · Maintains contact with families. Collects mark’s sheets, tracks success, and assesses needs.

  16. Help us collect sponsor letters and pictures, where we have a sponsor.
