What is
Referral Program
?
Hamro Samman project is a five-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and UKaid, and implemented by Winrock International. The project works to strengthen efforts of Nepal government, civil society and the private sector to counter trafficking in persons in Nepal.
With support from Hamro Samman, Rojgari Services is introducing Referral Program, which aims to improve access to job opportunities for those with little or no skills or education, and stand at risk of exploitation during recruitment and employment. The program targets victims of human trafficking, gender based violence, domestic violence, labor exploitation and other forms of exploitation, abuse and discrimination; individuals belonging to marginalized groups; workers from adult entertainment sector or informal sector who are at high risk of being trafficked or exploited; single parents, sole breadwinners or unemployed youth with limited safety nets and with little or no skills or education.
Through this Referral Program, Rojgari onboards ‘Rojgari Pratinidhis’ who can connect such job seeking Nepalis to Rojgari’s job-matching platform. Each Pratinidhi can directly enter the jobseekers’ contact information in Rojgari’s database, along with key information such as their skills and preferred job roles and locations. Rojgari will then verify the entered information by contacting the jobseekers, and provide additional support to connect them to suitable jobs.
This is an incentive-based system; the Pratinidhis will be awarded on the basis of quality of referrals provided, and success of the referrals, measured by job placements. Reward points will be provided that can be later converted into exciting gifts or monetary benefits.
