Job Description
  1. Job Responsibilities:

    a. Prepare a wide variety of baked goods such as breads, pastries, cakes and desserts according to recipes and standards

    b. Plan and coordinate the production and decoration of all baked goods

    c. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment and utensils

    d. Follow health and safety guidelines

    e. Train and supervise junior kitchen staff

    f. Create new and exciting baked goods to renew menu and engage the interest of customers

    g. Manage inventory and order supplies as needed

    h. Monitor food cost and portion control to maintain profitability

    i. Collaborate with the executive chef and kitchen team to design and implement new menu items

    j. Attend food shows and industry events to stay current with new baking trends and techniques.

    1. Job Requirements:

    a. At least 1 years of experience as a bakery chef or in a similar role

    b. Professional culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary school

    c. Strong understanding of baking techniques

    d. Experience working with high-volume production

    e. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

    f. Strong leadership and management skills

    g. Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools

    h. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes

    i. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    j. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

    k. Physical ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy bags of flour, sugar, and other ingredients.

    l. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs

    m. Creativity and ability to think out of the box.

    n. Strong organizational skills

    o. Knowledge of cost and inventory management principles

    p. Good computer skills to manage inventory and ordering supplies.
