Akasha Life is currently looking for a Pastry Chef / Baker at Artisan Bakery in Suntakhan, Gokarneshwor Municipality.

Artisan Bakery

Artisan Bakery is part of the social business Akasha Life. Its main goal is to support healthy nutrition by offering a variety of high-quality baked goods. We support local production and consumption and carefully select our ingredients accordingly to promote the regional agriculture.

Artisan Bakery offers employment, especially to support the local youth. Being a social business, we also promote a balanced diet for children by bringing a part of our products as nutritious snacks to schools at affordable rates. Along with educational workshops on nutrition, this promotes the healthy development of children.

Role of the position

The role of the Pastry Chef /Baker will focus on running the kitchen and food production. It also includes further developing new products and maintaining and controlling the quality and consistence. For the position, regular presence at the premises in Suntakhan-3, Gokarneshwor will be required.


Contract period

Initially 1 year, with the possibility of extension; long-term engagement envisioned,


Tasks and responsibilities:

You will

Look after the operational management of the kitchenPrepare products, maintaining quality and consistenceFurther develop innovative recipes and products.Develop healthier versions of known dishes and recipes with local and healthier ingredientsQuality control and capacity building of the bakers


Required skills and experience:

You should…

  • Have successfully completed an advanced education/training in a relevant field

  • have at least 2 years working experience in the hospitality sector/bakery/culinary arts

  • be passionate about nutrition and health-conscious living

  • be familiar with various types of pastries, bread, other baked goods

  • able to follow recipes and instructions accurately

  • be familiar and adhere to health and safety regulations

  • be able to give attention to detail for consistent quality and presentation

  • be able to work efficiently and plan production according to incoming orders

  • be creative to craft new pastries and recipes

  • be able to develop weekly menu planning and maintain cost control

  • have experience with developing new recipes and ready to experiment

  • have good command of Nepali and English languages,

  • have the ability to work within a team of different social and cultural backgrounds,

  • have a strong identification and commitment towards the overall work of Akasha Life and Akasha Academy,


Ideally, you have

driver’s license (two-wheeler)

experience in kitchen management
