Job Description
  1. Menu Creation and Development:

    Design a diverse menu that showcases a range of traditional and modern Japanese dishes, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

    Craft innovative and visually appealing sushi rolls, sashimi, tempura, ramen, and other classic Japanese items.

    Food Preparation:

    Prepare Japanese dishes with precision and authenticity, ensuring accurate flavor profiles and traditional cooking methods.

    Handle and slice fish for sushi and sashimi, maintaining high standards of freshness and quality.

    Execute proper knife skills and techniques for intricate sushi and sashimi creations.

    Sushi Bar Management:

    If overseeing a sushi bar, interact with customers while creating custom sushi orders, providing an engaging dining experience.

    Maintain a clean and organized sushi bar area, ensuring all tools and ingredients are readily available.

    Quality Control:

    Conduct regular taste and visual checks to ensure that dishes meet the restaurant's standards of taste, presentation, and authenticity.

    Address any concerns or discrepancies promptly to maintain the quality of offerings.

    Ingredient Sourcing:

    Source authentic Japanese ingredients, including seafood, rice, nori, and other key components, to maintain the integrity of the cuisine.

    Kitchen Management:

    Supervise kitchen staff involved in Japanese food preparation, ensuring a smooth workflow and timely service during busy periods.

    Organize kitchen tasks and set priorities to meet customer demand while maintaining high standards.

    Training and Mentorship:

    Train kitchen staff in Japanese culinary techniques, presentation standards, and cultural nuances to ensure consistency across dishes.

    Foster a learning environment that promotes skill development and creativity.

    Collaboration:

    Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to create a cohesive dining experience if the restaurant offers a fusion of Japanese cuisine with other cuisines.

    Qualifications:

    Proven experience as a Japanese Cuisine Chef, with a focus on traditional and contemporary Japanese dishes.

    In-depth knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques, flavors, and cultural nuances.

    Proficiency in sushi preparation and presentation (if applicable).

    Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering visually appealing dishes.

    Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards, especially in handling raw seafood.
