a. Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, according to customers' preferences
b. Take customer orders, handle cash and credit card transactions, and make accurate change
c. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the coffee station, counter, and seating area
d. Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
e. Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, and provide excellent customer service throughout the customer's experience
f. Make recommendations and upsell menu items, as well as provide information about the ingredients and nutritional values of menu items
g. Keep track of inventory and restock items as needed
h. Follow all company policies and procedures
i. Continuously learn about new products and promotions, and share this knowledge with customers
j. Provide training and guidance to new team members
Job Requirements:
a. At least 6 months of experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred
b. Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment, including espresso machines and grinders
c. Strong customer service skills and ability to work well in a team environment
d. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
e. Physical ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and move heavy bags of coffee beans, and perform repetitive motions
f. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures
g. High school diploma or equivalent
h. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
i. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food handling, and sanitation standards
j. Good communication skills and ability to understand customer needs.
k. Cash handling and basic math skills
l. Willingness to continuously learn and improve skills
